Success is in the air

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

Changing Gears Director Linda Jane with newly minted learner drivers from Moreland - 2018.

Congratulations from Changing Gears

Linda and Nikki from Changing Gears would like to extend a hearty congratulations to all the successful applicants for the Community Road Safety grants provided by the Victorian Department of Transport.

Many organisations enjoyed success

Successful Changing Gears partners include Cire Community School,

Merri-bek Council, Seymour College, South East Community Links (SECL), Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA)...

...and our new bies; Lavers Hill College GOALS program in Colac.

We are delighted to be working with you all to improve safety on Victorian roads and help your students in obtaining their Learner Permits.

If you were successful in this last funding round and are not mentioned in the above list, please feel free to contact us at admin@changinggears.org.

Support will be provided

To those organisations that were unsuccessful, Linda and Nikki would like to extend their thanks. It is a lot of hard work to put in an application and we very much appreciate your efforts.

The Department of Transport will be in contact with all unsuccessful applicants before the next funding round. They will provide feedback and assist them in their applications at that time.

We will also be in contact early next year to provide any support you may need, as when you are successful we are successful.

A special shout out to BSL

We have been working with the Brotherhood for over ten years now and we have seen the benefits to their young people. They have experienced 100% pass rate with their learners since 2017. BSL were able to secure funding from within to book four programs for this

financial year.

Some exciting Changing Gears news Some exciting news is that the Changing Gears program has applied to be an NDIS provider We have been successful in our audit and are awaiting our provider number. This means that any organisations wishing to partner with us can do so through the NDIS rather than applying for funding through the Department of Transport. Should you wish for support to do this, please feel free to contact us at the email address shown above.

We look forward to seeing you soon! Once again, congratulations from Linda and Nikki. We look forward to seeing you all soon and creating a host of happy new learner drivers.
