L2P vehicle is a car provided through the TAC L2P program in Victoria, Australia, designed for learner drivers aged 16–21 who lack access to a suitable vehicle or supervising driver.

Today, Linda Jane serves as Lions Club Project Manager for the L2P program, inspired by her recovery after losing the use of her hands for two years.

Linda’s commitment to driver education is deeply rooted in her own life experience.

Following a serious motorbike accident that left her without the use of her hands for two years, she faced a long and challenging recovery. Rather than stepping away from the road, she used that experience as motivation to retrain as a driving instructor.

This turning point shaped her perspective — particularly her understanding of road safety and the relationship between drivers and motorcyclists. It also reinforced her desire to help others become safer, more aware road users.

That lived experience continues to influence her work today, bringing empathy and insight into every lesson and every program she supports.

Decades of Dedication to Safer Roads

With more than 35 years of experience in driver education, Linda has worked across multiple organisations, including Murcotts, METEC, and Mission Australia.

Throughout that time, her focus has remained consistent: improving access to driver education and supporting individuals who might otherwise miss out.

Through Changing Gears, she has brought that experience into a community-focused model — one that prioritises inclusion, practical support, and long-term outcomes.
